Organization
Institutional structure
The State Advocacy is made up of the General Advocacy , the District Lawyers and the Advisory Committee (see articles 18 of Royal Decree 1611/1933 and 26 of Law 103/79).
The Attorney General has its headquarters in Rome, while the District Attorneys have headquarters in each regional capital and, in any case, where appeals court offices are established.
In the constituency of the Court of Appeal of Rome, the powers of the district attorney are exercised by the Attorney General of the State. In the jurisdiction of the Turin court of appeal, the Turin district attorney also has jurisdiction for the Aosta Valley.
Administrative organization
The State Advocacy also has its own administrative organization; in fact, the fulfillment of institutional tasks presupposes the existence of structures that support lawyers and attorneys in carrying out their activities.
The functioning of the Institute also depends on the adoption of various kinds of measures concerning the professional staff (for example the assignment of service offices or transfers); finally, there are activities relating to the employment relationship that binds staff (professional and non-professional) to the PA.
Currently, the administrative functions are carried out, in addition to the Advocate General, by the following bodies: Secretary General, Council of Lawyers and State Attorneys, Board of Directors. There are also some administrative offices at the Advocacy General.
